I’ve been a resident of Selsdon for nearly 35 years and have always considered the centre to be an asset to the community, and how lucky we are to have such a central place for people to attend. So just after lockdown and with some spare time on my hands, I responded to an advert asking for volunteers. My role consists of supporting our clients get to and from their homes to the centre via our minibus. Over the years I have become quite fond of our ladies and gents – they are wonderfully funny, interesting, intelligent and charismatic. Certainly, no two journeys are ever the same! I also help in the kitchen as an extra pair of hands when needed, particularly for the busier events when there is external entertainment provided.
