Volunteer Open Day

Are you looking for ways to support your local community?

Come along to our Volunteer Open Day and discover how you can make a difference to the Croydon community!

Location: Selsdon Community Clubhouse (in the Sainsbury’s building)
Date: 2nd June 2026
Time: 12:00pm – 2:00pm

Join us for a relaxed afternoon of tea, coffee, and cake, and find out more about how we support local people at the Clubhouse. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about the different ways you can get involved and speak to some of our current volunteers.

Selsdon Community Clubhouse is a welcoming local charity at the heart of Selsdon, providing friendship, support, and opportunities for people in the community. We provide a wide range of services and activities for the local community, including an over-60s lunch club, a Memory Tree Café, Carers Support Hub, and a variety of other community programmes and support services.

All of our Clubhouse volunteers work on 2 hour shifts and choose which days/times they are available.

Here are some of the roles we are looking for:

Cook/Chef

We’re always in need of a cook who is able to take the lead in our kitchen, particularly when we host our special events or themed lunches.

Kitchen support

Our much valued kitchen volunteers assist with laying and clearing tables, serving the lunches and tea and coffee, and helping with some food preparation.

Drivers and Passenger Assistants

Our capable and vetted volunteers drive our minibus within the local area, enabling those with mobility issues to attend the Clubhouse. They are always accompanied by passenger assistant, who will collect the client from their front door, help them onto the minibus, into the Clubhouse and the same after the lunch club ends.

If you’re ready to make a difference please come along to our Volunteer Open Day.
